rounded edges genuine leather straps, steel buckles and solid metal
accents. They do not consist of a metal back and are held in place on the body with four leather straps with buckles.
Two buckles are over the shoulders, two around the waist and the last two under the arm pits.
Breastplates were particularly designed and served to protect the warrior's chest. The choker that is normally worn with the breastplate protects the neck.
Antique breast plates used to come in various styles and designs. They differ from one period to another right from plain leather pieces to printed leather and metal pieces to richly carved and engraved pieces.
These protection pieces were by and large designed with light supplies for the ease of soldiers, but the designs became more intricate and complex as the methods of war changed. |
