Handmade patchwork or "pieced work"
is referred as a form of needlework that involves a process
of attaching pieces of fabric into a larger design.
The larger design is the base and then due to repeated performances
in the same way using different colors and patterns gives
u a different and unique colored shape.
After the design is formed, the shapes are carefully measured
and cut, straight-sided, basic geometric shapes making them
easy to piece together.
Exact joining makes for patchwork that lies flat without
puckers.
There are basically three traditional structures used to construct
a patchwork or pieced composition such as block, overall, and strip
piecing.
Handmade traditional patchwork has identified these names
based on the arrangement of colors and shapes. |
